to Promote Wellness, Encourage Excellence, Build Character, and Inspire Faith by including volunteering to your regular work out. You will not only improve the health of your community but your health as well.
Studies show when individuals volunteer they not only help their community but also experience better health in later years, whether in terms of greater longevity, higher functional ability, or lower rates of depression. Of particular importance are the findings regarding the “volunteering threshold,” which indicates that in order for volunteers to experience significant benefits from their volunteering activities, their level of commitment to these activities needs to be considerable, or, on average, one or two hours a week.
